The opening rounds of
the 2008 Renault Clio
Cup were held at Brands
Hatch, and me and the
team wanted to start
this season where we
left off at Thruxton
last year in the top ten. more

Rds 3/4 - Rockingham >
After being 5th fastest in the morning session
of Friday practice,
all was looking good
for qualifying at Rockingham for rounds 3&4. More
   
 

Oulton ParK
After a promising Friday practice, it all went down hill on Saturday. After setting a time good enough to be just out side the top ten, I encountered a stream of cars coming out of the pits having had tyre changes, stuck in traffic I couldn't improve on my time. But as we were first out, the conditions of the track were improving lap after lap, and as a result, I dropped to 17th place!

In the qualifying race the pressure was on as I was one place away from making the feature race as things stood. After an accident in the first corner that I was lucky to avoid, I came round to meet the safety car in
12th. We followed the safety car around for about 4 laps, before it dived away into the pits. With only a couple laps left, and a guaranteed position in the feature race, I decided against any stupid moves that might see me crashing out and not qualifying at all. So I crossed the line in 12th to start tomorrows race on the inside of the 12th row.
