ROCKINGHAM 2008 - RDs 3 & 4 After being
5th fastest in the morning session of Friday practice, all was
looking good for qualifying at Rockingham for rounds 3&4.
While we were sat in the assembly area, storm clouds were gathering,
and we knew we only had a few minutes before the rain would start.
In the Clios, we run the tyres the wrong way round in qualifying
so we can get heat in the fronts, which are then put on the rear,
before brand new slicks are put on the front. But as it looked
like we wouldn’t have that type of time, we took the decision
to swap the tyres in the pit lane as the session started.
All the other drivers went out on the tyres the wrong way round
just trying to get some times in, I managed to get one lap in
before the rain started, and it ruined my second flying lap. I
had to go out and set my second lap in the wet on wet tyres, and
therefore put me way back in 27th for the second race.
